Croatian Library Assocition<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> nacionalna je udruga hrvatskih knji\u017eni\u010dara.
Osnovano\u00a0 je 1940. godine pod imenom Hrvatsko bibliotekarsko dru\u0161tvo, radi za\u0161tite i promicanja knji\u017eni\u010darske struke i djelatnosti te osiguravanja profesionalnog integriteta knji\u017eni\u010dnih djelatnika.
Dru\u0161tvo se u svom radu zala\u017ee za najvi\u0161u razinu profesionalnog djelovanja te po\u0161tivanje temeljnih na\u010dela po\u0161tivanja ljudskih prava, \u0161to uklju\u010duje odr\u017eivi razvoj dru\u0161tva i demokracije; na\u010dela slobodnog pristupa informacijama, idejama i mislima u skladu s odredbama Op\u0107e deklaracije o ljudskim pravima, IFLA-inom izjavom Knji\u017enice i intelektualna sloboda te Izjavom o slobodnom pristupu informacijama Dru\u0161tva.<\/p>\n\n\n

Rijeka Libray Association<\/a><\/strong> was founded in 1950 and operates in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, bringing together librarians from all types of libraries. The Association\u2019s fundamental goal is to contribute to the development of library activities and the profession, support the establishment and growth of libraries, connect librarians and libraries in its area, and encourage professional development as a foundation for strengthening, recognition, and visibility of the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rijeka Library Association awards the \"Ivan Kostren\u010di\u0107\" Charter to its most deserving members biannually and continuously publishes the journal Knji\u017eni\u010dar\/ka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Rijeka Library <\/a><\/strong>began operating in 1948 and has been collecting legal deposit copies since its inception. It is the central library of the higher education system in Rijeka, the main library for higher education and special libraries across three counties. The library develops collections, structures information resources, and provides access to all types of materials. At the same time, the library organizes educational programs, supports research, and promotes teaching as the core activities of the university community. It serves as the centre of the educational and scientific process at the University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Library Rijeka<\/a><\/strong> is the central public library of the city of Rijeka and the main library for public and school libraries in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. As a specialized institution since 1962, it is the successor to the development of the National Reading Room of Rijeka and the Su\u0161ak City Library. It has evolved into its current form through a complex process that altered its structure, spaces, and content. Since 2023, it has operated through neighbourhood branches, the central library located in the \u201cBen\u010di\u0107\u201d art quarter, and the Children\u2019s House. Known for its innovative approach, the Library stands out, particularly in the production of more complex events and festivals (Tobogan, Good Children's Book Week, Winter and Summer Stories from Ben\u010di\u0107...), as well as in the development of digital concepts focused on creativity, such as the Magazine and Nursery. It is a modern information, educational, cultural, communication, and social hub for Rijeka and the surrounding area. It is focused on reading culture, new creativity, sustainable development, and community programs for all generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viktor Car Emin Public Library in Opatija <\/a><\/strong>operates in the Zora Cultural Center. It is the same building where reading room activities began in Opatija as the association of the same name was founded in the second half of the 19th century (1888).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 30, 1997, the Library was relocated from the Villa Angiolina to the ground floor of the renovated Zora Cultural Center building, under the auspices of the cultural institution that gave rise to it. Therefore, this date is celebrated as the Library Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Local Collection is of particular significance to our region. In the interest of preserving local heritage, it contains materials on the local and regional history of Opatija, Liburnia, and Istria. An important part of this collection includes the personal legacies of the poet Rikard Katalini\u0107 Jeretov and the historian Mario Glogovi\u0107. The Library also oversees the legacy of Viktor Car Emin, housed in the Viktor Car Memorial Room at the Lovran Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special aspect of our institution's operations is its publishing activity, through which the Library fulfils its mission as a guardian of local cultural, historical, and literary heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
